The weekend box office results have been released and they show that another "Resident Evil" franchise opened at the top spot for the 4th consecutive time.

According to estimates, Sony's "Resident Evil: Retribution," the fifth installment of the film series, raked in $21.1 million on its opening weekend in the U.S., taking the number 1 spot.

The 3D revival of the Disney animated movie, "Finding Nemo," is second with $17.5 million while Liongate's horror movie, "The Possesion," is third this week after grossing $5.8 million in ticket sales.
