Megan Young Homecoming Parade Set For October 11

Before she will embark into a tour around the world to fulfill her duties as Miss World winner, the Filipino-American actress-host, who is currently in London, is set to fly back to Manila on Thursday.

A homecoming parade has been scheduled for the beauty queen on Friday afternoon, October 11. It will be held on Ayala Avenue in the business district of Makati City.

According to Miss World Philippines director Cory Quirino, the victory motorcade will be similar to the ones accorded to Miss International 1964 Gemma Cruz and Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, among other past Philippine representatives who won in international beauty pageants.

Young, 23, won the first-ever Miss World title for the Philippines in Bali, Indonesia on September 28, besting more than 120 candidates from all over the world. The coronation night was broadcast in over 180 countries.
