Best-selling author Tom Clancy passed away four days ago but the cause of his death has not been made available to public.
Reports said that the American novelist died of a "brief illness" at 66 years old in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, but none of the reports indicated the exact cause. A press statement from Clancy's publisher, The Penguin Group, also did not talk about the cause of death.
Born Thomas Leo "Tom" Clancy, Jr., the literary genius was best known for his technically detailed espionage and military science story lines that are set during and in the aftermath of the Cold War, along with video games which bear his name for licensing and promotional purposes.
Among his popular works are "The Hunt for Red October," "Red Storm Rising, Patriot Games," "The Cardinal of the Kremlin," "Clear and Present Danger," "The Sum of All Fears," "Without Remorse," "Debt of Honor," "Executive Orders, Rainbow Six," "The Bear and the Dragon," "Red Rabbit," and "The Teeth of the Tiger."
Clancy is survived by his wife, Alexandra; their daughter, Alexis; and
four children from a previous marriage to Wanda King: Michelle Bandy,
Christine Blocksidge, Kathleen Clancy, and Thomas Clancy III.
