Despite the positive reviews it has received, Erik Matti's "On The Job" seems to perform weakly at the box office.

According to data from Box Office Mojo, the crime thriller only earned P2.7 million from September 4-8 and now has a total gross of P11.7 million. The movie was released on August 28.

"On The Job" is currently at number 57 in the list of highest-grossing films in the Philippines this year, more than a dozen places behind GMA Films' "My Lady Boss," which was considered by some as "flop."

A co-production of Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment, "On The Job" is based on an actual corruption scandal in which prisoners were released on day passes to work as hitmen. Its stellar cast include Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, Rayver Cruz, Shaina Magdayao, Empress Schuck, Joel Torre, Angel Aquino, Vivian Velez, Joey Marquez, Leo Martinez, Michael de Mesa, Al Tantay, Niño Muhlach, among others.
