Pregnant With 9 Babies? Not!

The report that a woman is pregnant with 9 babies has been debunked by a newspaper in Coahuila, Mexico, the woman's hometown.

According to El Diario de Coahuila, Karla Vanessa Perez, the woman identified in the report and was dubbed "Nuevemom," is not pregnant at all. The local news publication also found out that Perez had an operation to prevent her from getting pregnant again after giving birth to her third child, four years ago.

The office of Mexico's Secretary of Health has also confirmed with Telemundo that Perez is not pregnant.

Main broadcaster Televisa broke the story of Perez' record-breaking multiple pregnancy Thursday which was pick-up by several news outlets and tabloids, overnight.

Perez told the TV station that she is expecting six girls and three boys and is due to deliver on May 20. She added that she underwent a fertility treatment that led to multiple pregnancies.

Televisa says Perez was able to provide them convincing evidence of her condition, including an ultrasound.
