The Philippines emerged as the biggest winner at the 2013 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held Friday night at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

The Philippine delegation took home the two grand prizes, the Senior Grand Champion Performer of the World and the Junior Grand Champion Performer of the World, courtesy of singers Beverly Caimen and Aldeza Ianna dela Torre, respectively.

Pinoy model Reynaldo John Gorospe was also named Senior Grand Champion Male Model of the World while singing group Gollayan Sisters bagged the Senior Grand Champion Vocal Group of the World.

Overall, the Philippine contingent snatched 106 medals --41 gold, 38 silver, and 26 bronze medals. The team also received four Industry Awards.

During the Finale, former WCOPA Grand Champion Jed Madela performed "Home To You." Madela was also inducted into the WCOPA hall of fame.

The WCOPA, which is now in its 17th year, is the first and only international competition to find the best aspiring performing artists worldwide. It is often cited as "Talent Olympics" and receives thousands of applicants from over 40 countries around the world.
