Sports Illustrated confirmed that the beauty queen and girlfriend of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron will be appearing in the upcoming SI swimsuit issue, to be released in the week of February 11, 2013.

In her interview with Sports Illustrated's Jimmy Traina, Webber described how surpised she was receiving an invitation to pose in the iconic issue of the magazine.

She said, "I was completely dumbfounded. It was so shocking to me because literally overnight I go from being AJ's girlfriend and going to support him in the championship game to being on every major media news outlet. It's just so surprising to me. I don't know what God has planned, but obviously he's working on something. When Sports Illustrated called it just became even more real that this is happening. Every single model wants to be in Sports Illustrated, and I feel extremely blessed to have that opportunity."

Webb shot to fame when the camera focused on her during ESPN's broadcast of the 2013 BCS National Championship Game on Monday night, sparking fawning comments from veteran sportscaster Brent Musburger.

After the game, media coverage of Musburger's remarks on Webb was widespread. But Webb said  she didn't have a big problem with what Musburger said about her looks and ESPN's apology was unnecessary.

"I think the media has been really unfair to him," Webb told NBC's Today Show. "If he would have said something along the line of that we were hot or sexy or made any derogatory statements like that, I think that would have been a little bit different. The fact that he said we were beautiful and gorgeous, I don't see why any woman wouldn't be flattered by that."

The reigning Miss Alabama USA also became an internet sensation following her now-famous appearance at the BCS Championship game. Her Twitter followers soared from about 2,000 to more than 205,000 by Tuesday evening.
