Miss Alabama Katherine Webb, AJ McCarron's Girlfriend, Becomes Internet Sensation

Miss Alabama USA 2012 Katherine Webb, the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A. J. McCarron, became an internet sensation after ESPN cameras showed her during a broadcast of the 2013 BCS National Championship Game on Monday.

Webb gained tens of thousands of followers on Twitter when the game ended. From around 2,000 before the kickoff, Webb's account on the popular microblogging site now has over 200,000 followers.

Webb and McCarron reportedly started dating following an exchange on flirtatious tweets a few months ago. They met for the first time last month when the football star made an appearance at Miss Alabama USA pageant.

Born in Montgomery, Alabama, the 23-year-old beauty queen attended middle school and high school in Columbus, Georgia and graduated from Northside High School in 2007. She then took a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Administration at Auburn University. She graduated from Auburn in May 2011.

She is currently working as a training director at Chick-fil-A in Columbus, Georgia. She also models professionally for clients in New York, Miami and Atlanta. In November 2007, she competed for the title of Miss Georgia USA, ranking in the Top 15 and won Miss Photogenic Georgia USA. She decided that she would not compete in another pageant until she received her degree and gained more experience. In January 2012, Katherine was crowned Miss Alabama USA 2012.
