Quake Hits Iran
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 struck Iran on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, injuring at least 30 individuals.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the temblor hit at 09:56 a.m. local time (06:26 GMT) and centered at 32 miles north-northeast of Tabriz, a trading hub far from Iran's oil-producing areas and known nuclear facilities.

It was the same epicenter of the twin earthquakes, measuring 6.4 and 6.3 in magnitude, that killed nearly 300 people and destroyed a number of villages in August.

The recent quake precipitated at least two aftershocks with magnitudes of 3.4 and 3.2.
