Shakira's ex-boyfriend is suing the Grammy-winning Latina singer for $100 million.

Antonio de la Rúa, also the singer's former manager, claims that Shakira has stopped paying him his share of her business profits after they broke up.

The pair ended their romance in 2010 after being together for 10 years. In a statement, they vowed to remain friends and continue their business partnership.

Rúa, son of former Argentine president Fernando de la Rua, says he helped Shakira earn "tens of millions of dollars" on tours, as well as landing a $300 million deal with tour promoters Live Nation.

In the lawsuit filed before the Manhattan Supreme Court in New York City, Rua stated that he was fired a year after their break-up and since then, the 35-year-old "Hips Don't Lie" singer refused paying what he is owed.

Shakira is now dating Barcelona footballer Gerard Piqué. The couple recently announced that they are expecting their first child.
