Typhoon Dodong 2015: May 8 PAGASA Bulletin

Typhoon Dodong has maintained its strength and direction, the PAGASA said in its 11am bulletin on Friday, May 8, 2015.

Typhoon Dodong Track Forecast

According to the state weather bureau, Typhoon Dodong's center was spotted at 470 km East Northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar at 11am. Forecast to move West Northwest at 17 kph, the cyclone is packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. Dodong is expected to be at the following locations in the coming days:

---Saturday morning: 250 km East of Virac, Catanduanes.
---Sunday morning: Vicinity of Isabela, Cagayan.
---Monday morning: 100 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes
---Tuesday morning: 840 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes or in the vicinity of Okinawa, Japan (outside PAR).

Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 has been hoisted over Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Polillo Island and Northern Samar. 

PAGASA said more provinces may be added to the list on its 5pm Typhoon Dodong bulletin, including Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Rizal, Quezon and Nueva Ecija.

Typhoon Dodong will bring heavy to intense rain within 300km of its diameter, PAGASA added.
