2 Die From Drinking 'Contaminated' Milk Tea In Manila

Two people died while another remains hospitalized after drinking a contaminated milk tea at a teashop in Manila.

Authorities say Suzaine Dagohoy, 28, and Arnold Aydalla, 34, ordered Hokkaido Milk Tea in Ergo Cha Milk Tea House in Sampaloc at around 11am on Thursday. After noticing its unpleasant taste, the dating couple immediately returned it to the store's owner, 57-year old William Abrigo, who then took a sip of the product.

Dagohoy lost her consciousness just a few minutes later. Aydalla tried to help his girlfriend but he also collapsed. Abrigo, meanwhile, fell unconscious inside his store.

The three were taken to a nearby hospital where Dagohoy and Abrigo died.

Aydalla is still confined in the hospital and is now in stable condition.

The police are now waiting for the results of the autopsy to determine the cause of the deaths.
