Historical drama "12 Years a Slave" was close behind with nine nominations, while Somali pirate drama "Captain Phillips," AIDS activist film "Dallas Buyers Club" and black and white road movie "Nebraska" were nominated in six categories.
Meanwhile, Martin Scorsese's biographical dark comedy "The Wolf of Wall Street" and Spike Jonze's futuristic comedy-drama "Her" each grabbed five nods.
The 2014 Oscar Awards will be held on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
