The Philippines earthquake death toll has climbed to 67, while the number of injuries is now 164, officials said Tuesday night.

In an update released at 6:00pm, the Philippines' National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said 59 deaths have been reported in Bohol, 9 in Cebu and 1 in Siquijor. The list of casualties includes a child who died during a stampede in Pinamungahan, Cebu.

The 7.2-magnitude quake struck at 8:12am on Tuesday and centered at 2km southeast of Carmen, Bohol. The temblor was also felt in other areas in Visayas and Mindanao and caused power outages and briefly shut down seaports and airports. Several infrastructures, including centuries-old churches, hospitals, schools and bridges, sustained heavy damages from the quake.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), it has recorded 289 aftershocks as of 5:00pm, with the strongest measuring 4.8 in magnitude.
