On Friday, the 19-year-old Canadian pop superstar posted an Instagram photo of himself and what looks to be a copy of the film's script, adding the caption "#robin ??".

The said picture has amassed over 280,000 likes as of this posting and has received both positive and negative comments from other users of the popular social networking website.

"Robin?? It sounds interesting!," @alebelieber said.

"Sometimes warner bros wants to watch the world burn," added @sxy_stephy27.

"Dear God no. You will ruin Batman!" @misskatie1992 commented.

It was announced in August that "Argo" star Ben Affleck will be playing as Batman in the highly anticipated "Batman vs. Superman" movie, which will be a sequel to the blockbuster hit "Man of Steel." It was previously revealed that the sequel would see Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) facing off against Bruce Wayne.

Other rumored castings include Matt Damon as Aquaman, Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor and Mark Strong as Green Lantern mentor Sinestro, a role he has played before.
