On Sunday, a heartbreaking photo, which purportedly shows the 26-year-old actress crying as she clings to a coffin that allegedly contains the lifeless body of Monteith, made its way on social media sites and has since gone viral.

The truth is that the young brunette in the picture is not Michele but Ashley Edens, who was grieving the death of her soldier husband in the portrait taken over a year ago.

"Don't be duped by 'Lea Michele at Cory Monteith’s coffin' pic. Not her. And no coroner would be done his work that fast," tweeted NY1 news anchor Pat Kiernan.

Michele was reportedly in Mexico when news of Monteith's death reached her. She was said to be shaking upon learning the shocking news.
