Veteran actress Amable "Ama" Quiambao Viray has died Friday night. She was 65 years old.

Ama Quiambao
"Goodbye to one of the most dedicated teachers & actresses, Amable Quiambao, who has gone home to the Father. A life well-lived, Ama! Bravo!," film and TV director Jose Javier Reyes said in a tweet.

A week ago, Quiambao was rushed to a hospital after she reportedly collapsed on stage during a matinee performance for "Pamamanhikan," a one-act-play in the ongoing Virgin Labfest 9 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Quiambao played the role of Sepa in the 1982 film "Himala." Her performance in the award-winning movie earned her a Gawad Urian best supporting actress nomination.

She also appeared in a number of other movies including "Guwapings: The First Adventure," "Impakto," among others; and in several TV shows such as "Anna Karenina," "Krystala" and "Budoy."

Last year, Quiambao won the best actress award in the New Breed category in Cinemalaya Film Festival for the movie "Diablo."
