Sarah Geronimo and Regine Velasquez have been nominated in this year's World Music Awards.

Both the Filipino artists are among the nominees in three categories, namely World's Best Female Artist, World's Best Live Act, and World's Entertainer of the Year, alongside big names in the music industry like Adele, Beyonce, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, among others.

First held in 1989, the World Music Award is an annual international awards show that recognizes recording artists based on worldwide sales figures provided by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and a poll by web users.

WMA told NoypiStuff that "nominations for the Best-Selling Artists of 2013 will be announced in the fall."

There are no information yet regarding where and when the awarding ceremony will be.
