McDonald's is set to give away over 1 million free McMuffins to its customers all over Asia, Middle East, and South Africa on Monday, March 18, 2013.

More than 1 million free McMuffins to be given away
Up to 1,000 free McMuffins are to be given out in each participating McDonald's outlets in these regions on the said date in celebration of the National Breakfast Day.

In the Philippines, all McDonald’s restaurants serving breakfast will be offering free McMuffins from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM via Dine-In, Take-Out, or Drive-Thru on a first-come-first-served basis. Customers are only allowed to avail one McMuffin each.

"With National Breakfast Day, we are taking our 'Hooray for Today' campaign to a new level by giving Filipinos an opportunity to taste just how good breakfast at McDonald's really is," McDonald's Philippines president and CEO Kennth Yang said in a press statement.

In China, the date coincide with the schedule of airing of a TV exposé on corporate malpractice to mark World Consumer Rights Day, which is expected to name and shame the American fast food giant. The free McMuffin promotion is reportedly unrelated to the exposé.
