There will be no classes in schools across the Philippines on Monday, February 25, 2013, as it is a special holiday.

February 25, 2013 Holiday
This is according to Proclamation 456 signed by President Benigno S. Aquino III last August 16, 2012, which declared February 25, 2013 as a school holiday to commemorate the anniversary of the EDSA People Power revolution.

"The EDSA People Power Revolution, which restored and ushered political, social and economic reforms in the country, serves as an inspiration to Filipinos everywhere as a nation and as a people," the proclamation states.

The Department of Education said Sunday that only DepEd Central, Regional and Division offices have work while those teaching and non-teaching personnel reporting to schools need not go to work.

There will be work for government and non-government employees on this day.

The next Philippine holiday is Holy Week, a four-day break starting March 28, Maundy Thursday.
