A church in Texas suddenly exploded while two thieves were staging a robbery recently.

Church explodes on thieves (ABC News)
The thieves broke into the Westway Baptist Church in Houston Wednesday to steal the church’s main electric cable. While they were removing the wires, they accidentally set off an explosion, leaving the church without power.

The burglary and explosion were all caught on surveillance camera.

"The man just blew up into a fire ball. I surely don't know if he was electrocuted or even alive. [...] If they [medical facilities] encounter someone with suspicious burn wounds, we urge them to inform the authorities," deacon Michael Kirtley told reporters.

Kirtly said the explosion happened at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, when the church's security alarms went off, prompting them to notify the police.

"God watches over the Evil and the Good," Kirtley said.

The church is working with local authorities to locate and prosecute the thieves, who are still at large and probably in bad shape.

  1. The lord smacking the thief???? WTF???? Tell your lord to feed all the poor and to cure all those who are ill. Obviously that was an accident caused by an error not divine intervention. Tell god to fix your problems now and see if he will answer.
