Richard Lustig, a seven-time lottery winner, has some advice on how to increase your chance in winning a lottery jackpot.

Lustig appeared Tuesday on "Good Morning America" to share some lotto secrets to players of Powerball, which jackpot climbed Wednesday from $425 million to the now historic $550 million sum.

Below are his unscientific tips to winning the lottery:

---Avoid the randomized Quick Pick. Choose your own numbers instead of having the machine do it for you.
---Pick a combination that has not won before.
---Select your ten sets of numbers and keep those if you continue buying tickets.
---Buy as many tickets as you can afford.

In his past interviews, Lustig had also given the following advice:

---Don’t spend more than you can afford!
---Play in lottery pools—it increases your chances of winning.
---There are no such things as “lucky locations” to buy your ticket.
---If you win, secure your financial future first. THEN go out and buy novelty items.

The odds in getting the winning combination for the staggering Powerball jackpot are 1 in 176 million.

Lustig says he has won 7 lottery game grand prizes totaling to $7 million. He wrote a book called "Learn How to Increase Your Chances of Winning the Lottery" containing more strategies in increasing your shot at the jackpot.
