24 Hours Of Pull Ups (Today)
Navy SEAL David Goggins is planning another attempt at the Guinness World Record for the "Most Pull-Ups" in a 24-hour period, continuing his effort to raise awareness and funds for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

In an email sent to the foundation, Chief Petty Officer Goggins said he will try to break the record again once he fully heal.

"I'm really fired up!" he wrote.

Despite his best efforts during his first attempt last week, which was covered by "Today" on NBC, Goggins had to stop at 2,588 pullups when he tore a muscle in his wrist.

The current Guinness record for the number of 24-hour pull-ups is 4,020 by Stephen Hyland, set on July 23, 2011, at his personal gym in Stoneleigh, UK.

By the end of his attempt, Goggins was able to raise $12,030 for the foundation, a charity devoted to providing a college education to every child who has lost a parent serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps during an operational or training mission under the U.S. Special Operations Command.

He has also raised more $23,000 at a fundraising website for his stunt.
