Alabang Town Center has released a statement regarding the shooting incident inside the mall on Friday, September 14, 2012.

It said: "At around 10 a.m. today, a shooting incident transpired at one of the entrances of Alabang Town Center. As an armored van was entering the driveway, two of the mall’s security guards noticed that unidentified men were suspiciously seated near the driveway. The security personnel immediately confronted the men who instantly opened fired at them. Two of the malls’ security guards were wounded and were immediately rushed to the Alabang Medical Center. One of the suspects was shot and pronounced dead at the same hospital.

"PNP operatives immediately responded and conducted pursuit operations. The mall was still closed at the time the incident transpired. For the safety of the public, the mall remained closed as police personnel conducted clearing operations.

"The police have declared Alabang Town Center secure to operate and we have resumed normal operations at around 2:30 pm today. We continue to work closely with the PNP in the investigation of the incident. Rest assured that safety of customers is the utmost concern of Alabang Town Center and its security has been beefed up in and around the mall."
