A cheeseburger that weighs over 1 ton and measures 10 feet in diameter is the new record holder of the world's biggest burger title.

The bacon cheeseburger, cooked by chefs at the Black Bear Casino Resort in Minnesota, tipped the scales at 2,014 pounds, easily breaking the previous record of 881 pounds, 13 ounces.

The enormous cheeseburger contained 60 pounds of bacon, 50 pounds of lettuce, 50 pounds of sliced onions, 40 pounds of pickles and 40 pounds of cheese.

Guinness World Records representative Philip Robertson, who verified the record for largest burger, said it was more than simply a gimmick.

"What I saw today was a feat of remarkable teamwork that resulted in a world record burger that actually tastes really good," Robertson said in a news release.

It reportedly took four hours to make Black Bear's cheeseburger and a crane was brought in to flip it. It was cooked in an outdoor oven heated by propane torches and 15-foot steel skillets.
