Tony Farmer (Fox News) |
The 18-year-old Garfield Heights High School senior student is accused of kidnapping, assaulting and threatening his ex-girlfriend, Andrea Lane, last April after she didn't want to reconcile their relationship.
On Tuesday, Farmer was told by Judge Pamela Barker he has to serve three years in prison. While hearing his sentence, he fainted and remained on the floor briefly before being pulled to his feet by a sheriff's deputy.
In an odd twist, the victim, who was among the people in the gallery, was sobbing in reaction to the judge's decision.
The 6'7'' forward was ranked among the top 100 high school players in the country and was being recruited by several major colleges.
