Twitter Announcement
Twitter Search is now smarter!

On July 6, Twitter announced new improvements in its search feature that will "immediately get you closer to the things you care about."

Among them were the "search autocomplete" and  the "People you follow" search results.

Twitter's "search autocomplete" shows users the most likely terms for queries as they enter them. Users can select from the drop-down menu even before they finish typing the query.

"People you follow" search results, on the other hand, will present tweets from the people you follow that are related to your query.

"Viewing Tweets about a topic from just the people you follow is a great way to find useful information and join the conversation," it said.

In addition to the two, the popular microblogging site also now has the following features that would make users' search experience better:

Spelling corrections: If you misspell a term, we’ll automatically show results for your intended query.

Related suggestions: If you search for a topic for which people use multiple terms, we will provide relevant suggestions for terms where the majority of that conversation is happening on Twitter.

Results with real names and usernames: When you search for a name like ‘Jeremy Lin,’ you’ll see results mentioning that person’s real name and their Twitter account username.

These new features are certainly useful, aren't they?
