Nadia Comaneci in 1976
Nadia Comaneci is now 50 years old but people still recount her soaring performance on uneven bars 36 years ago, scoring the first perfect 10 in the history of Olympic gymnastics.

The then ponytailed 14-year-old's routine was so exceptionally good, and so unexpected, that a scoreboard had yet to be devised that could record such perfection. So officials flashed up "1.00" and it took the announcer to notify the crowd that those digits actually meant a perfect 10. The crowd erupted.

Check out  Nadia Comaneci's historic performance at the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics below:
Comaneci bagged three gold medals and a bronze at her famous debut in Montreal and two golds and two silvers in Moscow in 1980. She also won two world titles in a 10-year international career.
