The most expensive face cream will be sold at $13,213, five times more expensive per gram than gold.

The extremely expensive face cream, called "La Creme," will be released on September 21 by Japanese beauty product line Cle de Peau Beaute in celebration of its 30th anniversary.

There will only be three jars of the face cream that will be sold. Each jar has been hand-crafted and will contain 50 grams of the lavish moisturizing cream. The jars also feature 30 layers of crystal topped with three platinum ring.

The fancy beauty product claims to lift and tighten skin through powerful anti-aging properties.

"We do not usually make limited editions of our products." spokesperson Megumi Kinukawa said. "We hope it will appeal to our loyal customers and people who are interested in gorgeous brands." 

"Mamma Mia!" star Amanda Seyfried has been tapped to be the face cream's endorser.

"As the exciting embodiment of luminous sophistication and natural radiance, Amanda Seyfried captures the very essence of Cle de Peau Beaute. She is pure of heart, vibrantly alive, and brings joy to the lives of others," the company stated on its website.

The most expensive face cream  that is currently being sold in the market is Sisley's Sisleya Anti-Aging Concentrate Firming Body Care which costs $415 per 150ml pot. Cle de Peau Beaute's "La Creme" will clearly out-price its competition.
