Kim Dotcom's New Zealand Mansion (Buzzfeed) |
"I am simply asking the courts to return my own property and make reasonable provision for our family's ongoing maintenance and care," Mrs. Dotcom said in papers she filed.
The "maintenance and care" in the couple's rented New Zealand mansion reportedly include:
- A $5 million in modifications to the house
- Rent $772,000 a year.
- $460,000-a-year to keep the house going.
- Six staff cost about $22,300 a month.
- $5,400 a month on groceries.
- Gas for heating and cooking $1500 a month.
- Electricity $2,700 a month.
- Landline phone calls budgeted at $3,800.
- $1400 a week for lawn mowing.
- $3200 a week for three full-time gardeners.
Mona, who maintains she had no involvement in Megaupload, added, "I have always believed my husband's businesses are entirely lawful, and I still believe this to be true."
After staying in jail for more than a month, Kim is currently free on bail and has been granted $15,500 per month from his frozen funds to shoulder his living expenses.
An extradition hearing to send Mr. Dotcom to the United States for trial has been set in August.
