Nursing Board Exam Topnotcher Jerald Pelayo*
The Nursing Board Exam results have been released by the Professional Regulation Commission on Thursday.

Out of the 67,095 nursing graduates who took the local board exam for nurses last December, only  22,760 got the passing grades. The figure represents a national passing rate of 33.92, said to be one, if not, the lowest percentage of passers in the history of the exam. (Check out the list of passers HERE.)

The exam was topped by Jerald Pelayo of Mountain View College (located in Valencia City, Bukidnon). He garnered a rating of 86.40.

Pelayo was closely followed by Xavier University (Ateneo de Cagayan University) graduate Linsid Angelou Tapongot who received an 86.00 rating.

Joanne Santamaria of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Manila took the third spot with her 85.80 rating.

It is interesting to note that despite Bagyong Sendong giving them troubles during the exam which was conducted a couple of days after the cyclone struck, a dozen or more examinees from Cagayan de Oro made it to the list. Around ten of them are graduates of Xavier University.
