'The Mistress' Gross Reaches P100 Million On 5th Day

Star Cinema's "The Mistress" is still strong at the box office.

According to Star Cinema, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo's movie earned P100 million in ticket sales on its fifth day. It was earlier reported that the film raked in P23 million on its opening day.

With the impressive figures, "The Mistress" is in the running to become the most successful movie this year. The title is currently being held by the John Lloyd Cruz-Angel Locsin movie, "Unofficially Yours," which had a total gross of P157 million.

A 10th anniversary film offering of the John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo onscreen tandem, "The Mistress" was directed by Olivia Lamasa and stars Ronaldo Valdez, Hilda Koronel, Anita Linda, Carmi Martin, among others.  It follows story of a worldly, adventurous man's (Cruz) doomed relationship with a woman (Alonzo) who is already committed to an older partner (Valdez).

'The Mistress' Grosses P23 Million On First Day: Report

Star Cinema's new romantic film, "The Mistress," grossed a whooping P23 million during its first day in theaters nationwide, according to Star Cinema.

The figure is just a hair behind the opening gross of the "highest grossing Filipino film of all time," "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin," which was P23.9 million.

"The Mistress" is the 10th anniversary film offering of the John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo onscreen tandem.

Directed by Olivia Lamasa, the movie also stars Ronaldo Valdez, Hilda Koronel, Anita Linda, Carmi Martin, among others.

The film tells the story of a worldly, adventurous man's (Cruz) doomed relationship with a woman (Alonzo) who is already committed to an older partner (Valdez).

Bea Alonzo spotted at 'Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi' premier night

Bea Alonzo is not part of the cast of the movie "Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi" but the she was spotted at the movie's Premier Night earlier this week.

It appears that it was Bea's way of showing her support to Zanjoe Marudo who is one of the leading men in the movie.

Bea and Zanjoe had been rumored to be a couple for quite some time now. But in his interview with SNN last night, Zanjoe said they have not reached that status in their relationship yet. They are still dating, he said.

Zanjoe had also invited Bea to be his date at the Star Magic Ball 2011 happening later at the Manila Peninsula. Bea has reportedly said "yes."

Star Magic Confirms Receiving Death Threats Against Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson

In an ABS-CBN report, Star Magic confirms receiving numerous emails containing death threats against talents, Gerald Anderson and Bea Alonzo. The families of the two celebrities are also said to be targets of the threats as well as some Star Magic executives and personnel. These emails are said to have originated from fans and already sent to proper authorities for identification and possible prosecution.

In Gerald Anderson's emotional outburst during the press conference of his movie ('Till my Heartaches End) with Kim Chu, he disclosed, "Marami po akong natatanggap na hate mails kahit sa bahay ko. Ang mga mahal ko sa buhay ko ay nadadamay."

He added: "Kasi kung ako lang, kaya kong tanggapin ito, kaya kong tiisin ang lahat ng nangyayari sa akin, pero iba na kung idinadamay ang pamilya mo. Iba na kung isang araw, may tumawag sa akin at sasabihin ay papatayin daw niya ang anak niya."

Gerald then went out from the conference and failed to comeback because of hyperventilation. The actor was checked by medics, and is now in stable condition.
