Pope Francis is set to embark on his first Apostolic Journey to the Philippines on January 15-19, bringing with him God's message of mercy and compassion to the Filipino people, especially the victims of Typhoon Yolanda that hit the country in 2013.

During the five-day visit, the pontiff is scheduled to meet with the nation’s bishops, priests, seminarians, members of the religious, youth, and families in separate activities, apart from celebrating a holy mass at the Quirino Grandstand which is expected to gather a huge number of the Filipino Catholic faithful.

Pope Francis will also fly to Tacloban and Palo, Leyte where he will interact with typhoon survivors. While in the province, the pope will also bless the construction site of the new chapel of Pope Francis Center for the Poor and preside a eucharistic celebration at the Tacloban International Airport open field.

11:15am    HOLY MASS with the bishops, priests, women and men religious at the Cathedral – Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Manila

12:45pm    Lunch with some of the survivors of typhoon Yolanda at the Archbishop’s Residence in Palo
3:00pm    Blessing of the Pope Francis Center for the Poor

5:00pm    Departure by plane for Manila

January 19, 2015 (Monday)
09:45am    Leave Taking Ceremony at the Presidential Pavilion of Villamor Air Base in Manila
