It states that we should turn our cellphones off at 12:30am to 3:30am on Monday because they will cause harm to us if we use them while the galactic rays are present. The public alert allegedly came from BBC World News.

But is the information factual? Apparently, it is not. A simple Google search will tell you that this is just a recycled hoax from 2008 which reemerged in 2012 and then now. In addition, there is no such report from the BBC website nor from any other reliable news agencies for that matter. Therefore, there is no reason for you to panic. You can also help stop the spread of the SMS hoax by not sending it to your family and friends.
