Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Miss World Chairman Julia Morley had to cancel the rest of their Haiti trip after an accident that left the latter injured. Young escaped either "unhurt or with just cuts and bruises."

The accident took place at an orphanage in Port Au Prince on Thursday. In a video posted on Miss World's Youtube channel, Young and Miss World Haiti 2013 Ketsia Lioudy Iciena are being surrounded by several children when suddenly the wooden floor they are on gives way.

"We went into the orphanage hoping for a good day," Young recounted. "I was happy that day and the children we were with seemed so full of energy and joy. We get onto this second floor platform, and we aren't even there for a minute and we hear a crack and everybody falls through."

Young managed to land on her feet after the fall, thereby escaping injury. Furthermore, despite the shock of the fall, Young held on to her Miss World crown as the building collapsed around her. Miraculously, she ensured that the crown remained undamaged despite all that was going on.

Unfortunately, Morley and one of the children sustained fractures after falling through the floor, landing 8 to 10 feet below, being hit by the debris from above. It took a few hours for them to be transported to a local Medishare hospital, where doctors repaired the child's leg fracture. The medical team felt that it was too risky to treat Morley's hip fracture at the hospital, hence she was airlifted to Miami to undergo immediate surgery.

Morley is now recuperating after a 5 1/2 hour operation to put her hip back together.
