Daniel Padilla
The phenomenal teen heartthrob made it to the "World’s Best Male Artist" category of the awards, which honor "the world's best-selling and most popular recording artists chosen by the fans." In the said category, Padilla is up against fellow Filipino singers Christian Bautista and Jed Madela, as well as several other artists from all over the world including Justin Bieber, Usher, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake, among others.

Pinay singers Sarah Geronimo and Regine Velasquez also received nods in the awards this year. Both of them are among the nominees in three categories, namely World's Best Female Artist, World's Best Live Act, and World's Entertainer of the Year, alongside big names in the music industry like Adele, Beyonce, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, and Katy Perry.

First held in 1989, the World Music Awards annually recognize recording artists based on worldwide sales figures provided by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and a poll by web users.

There are no information yet regarding where and when this year's awarding ceremony will take place.
