In an interview with veteran showbiz reporter Cristy Fermin, Charice's grandmother, Teresita Relucio, said she was told that the 21-year-old "Note To God" singer tried to kill herself recently because she can't accept that she is broke.

"Yun ang sinabi nila sa akin," Relucio said when asked whether the reports about Charice's suicide attempt are true. "Hindi kayang tanggapin ni Charice yung wala na siya pera."

She added, "Walang pera (si Charice.) Hindi ko siya sinisisi magkaganyan siya ngayon. Nakikita ko na hindi na masyadong mainit sa tao ang bata. Naaawa ako. Baka hindi makayanan ng bata ang pagkakabigo niya sa buhay niya, kung ano ang gawin niya."

"Kinakatakutan ko lang Racquel 'pag ikaw ang nawalan ng anak. Baka magsabisabi ka. Ayusin mo," she further stated.

Charice has not released a statement regarding this issue. But if Charice really has financial woes, then she'll probably will solve them soon since she has been busy with a number of projects lately, including her new album, the recent concert with Aiza Seguerra and another gig in Hawaii.
