Bagyong Zoraida has made landfall over Davao Oriental, PAGASA said Tuesday morning, November 12.

In its 11AM bulletin, the state weather bureau said Bagyong Zoraida was located at 46 km North Northwest of Baganga, Davao Oriental at 10AM. The tropical depression, which is moving Northwestward at 30kph, has maximum sustained winds of 55kph near the center, it said.

PAGASA added that Bagyong Zoraida will be at 110km South Southwest of Cuyo Islands, Palawan by Wednesday morning and expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday morning.

Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 are still up in the following areas: Cuyo Island, Palawan, The Calamian Group, Siquijor, Southern Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Dinagat Province, Siargao Island, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, Northern Davao del Norte, Samal Island, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, North Cotabato, Camiguin Island, Northern Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur.

Weather forecasters stated that the estimated rainfall amount is from 5-15 mm per hour (moderate-heavy) within the 300 km diameter of Bagyong Zoraida. They are advicing residents in low lying areas and near mountain slopes  to be alert against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Sea travel is risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, they added.
