Tropical Depression Santi, which is now a tropical storm, has accelerated to 15kph from 11kph, six hours earlier. It is moving westward towards Aurora-Isabela area, the PAGASA said.

At 4:00pm today, the center of the tropical cyclone was estimated at 490 km east of Baler, Aurora (15.6ºN, 126.6ºE). Bagyong Santi is packing maximum winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is expected to be at 160 km East of Baler, Aurora by tomorrow afternoon and at the vicinity of Iba, Zambales by Saturday afternoon. By Sunday afternoon, it is estimated to be 380 km West Northwest of Iba, Zambales.
Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 (winds of 30-60kph is expected within the next 36 hours) has been hoisted over Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon including Polilio Islands and Camarines Norte.
Bagyong Santi will yield an estimated rainfall amount of 5.0 – 20.0 mm per hour (moderate – intense) within the 400 km of its diameter.
Residents in areas under storm signal are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. PAGASA said sea travel is risky over the eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon and of Visayas.
