Bryan Cranston, best known for his role in AMC's "Breaking Bad," has reportedly been cast as Lex Luthor in the upcoming sequel of "Man of Steel."

According to reports, Cranston's role as Superman's nemesis will be officially confirmed after the series finale of "Breaking Bad" next month. The 57-year-old award-winning actor is set to play Luthor in at least six films in the DC Comics franchise, the reports added.

The said reports came just a few days after it was announced that "Argo" star Ben Affleck will be playing as Batman in the highly anticipated movie. It was previously revealed that the sequel would see Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) facing off against Bruce Wayne.

Other rumored castings for the "Man Of Steel" sequel include Matt Damon as Aquaman and Mark Strong as Green Lantern mentor Sinestro, a role he has played before.
