Schindler's List On Ebay |
However, a museum official in Krakow told Polish media Tuesday that the said Schindler's List on eBay is a just a rare copy and thus, the asking price is questionable.
"The document has great historic significance, but it's not worth 3 million dollars," Michal Niezabitowski, director of the Historical Museum of Krakow, said. "The problem is that the original list no longer exists. Someone is trying to sell the legend here."
The said copy was created in 1945 during the evacuation of Schindler's enamel factory, which was transformed into a museum about Krakow during the second World War. It is one of the four existing copies of the 14-page list, which contains names of Jews to be spared from Nazi death camp. The list was named for Oskar Schindler, a German businessman credited with saving more than 1,000 Jews from the Nazis by deeming them essential workers for his enamel works factories.
