Maroon 5 plans to go on tour this summer and is working on the follow-up to last year's "Overexposed" album.

Maroon 5 plans summer tour, to record new album
The Adam Levine-led band will headline this year's Honda Civic Tour, which will also feature Kelly Clarkson and the support acts of PJ Morton, Rozzi Crane and Tony Lucca  on select dates. The 31-date tour will kick off on St. Louis, Missouri on August 1st, continuing through early October.

"We are very excited to team up with the Honda Civic Tour," Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine said in a statement. "Kelly, PJ, Rozzi and Tony are all such unique and amazing artists. I'm really looking forward to hitting the road with them. Each night will be a great night of music."

Meanwhile, the Grammy-winning group is set to record their as-yet-untitled fifth album.

"The stuff we're working on now, it definitely has gone maybe a little darker in its sound, maybe back a little bit more to what we kind of did on (our debut) `Songs About Jane,'" guitarist James Valentine told the Associated Press. "But at this point we do have all kinds of different songs and it is early."

Released in June 2012, Maroon 5's last album, "Overexposed," has achieved platinum status. It features the hit songs "Payphone," "One More Night" and "Daylight."
