Kris Aquino made a big announcement Thursday night during a live interview with TV Patrol.

The TV host-actress, who is facing another controversy with her former husband James Yap, said she is ending her showbiz career for the sake of their 5-year-old son, Bimby.

"Paglaki ng anak ko, gusto ko malaman niya na ibinigay ko ang lahat. Dahil noong nabubuhay ang mommy namin, binigay niya ang lahat para sa amin. So ibinibigay ko ang lahat para sa anak ko. It’s not between James and me and who is telling the truth. It’s about how much I love my son. Tama naman ang sinabi ng mga tao na kawawa na si Bimby so kailangan gawin ko ito para sa kanya," she said.

Together with her three sisters, Aquino appeared for an interview on the news program to talk about her latest spat with Yap, who denied her accusations. But no one knew that the "Pilipinas Got Talent" judge had something else to tell the nation.

"I’m giving up my shows. Hindi ko sinasabi 'yan just so that I can say na I’m the one making the bigger sacrifice. Tinatalikuran ko ang mundo na kinilala ko na bumuhay sa akin dahil higit doon sa karera ko, mas mahal ko ang anak ko," she told TV Patrol anchor Ted Failon.

The "KrisTV" host said she made up her mind on her way to the interview and that she didn't tell anyone about her decision to resign prior to the live broadcast.
