During the first leg of the competition, Spella, a 41-year-old beauty therapist, and Ishitanti, a 35-year-old businesswoman, showed enthusiasm in every challenge. They're fun and they seem like they will do whatever it takes to stay in the game.
The show
It has been a week since the show started and as an avid fan of the original American series, I have to say the Philippine version does not disappoint.
It possess the thrill and excitement of the US show and I guess host Derek Ramsay is also doing a good job. The competing teams are entertaining, too.
Being aired nightly, instead of weekly, seems to work for me as well. Sometimes, a week feels like a decade waiting for another episode of the American version.
"The Amazing Race Philippines" airs weeknights at 9 p.m. on TV5. Eleven teams, coming from different social backgrounds, are competing for the 2-million-peso grand prize and the prestige of becoming the reality show’s first winner in the Philippines.
