The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Adam Woldemarim, a 42-year-old Ethiopian cabbie, was cleaning out his taxi on September 2 afternoon when he found a laptop case stuffed with $221,510 cash.

After checking with his pal who drove the taxi earlier that day, Woldemarim decided to take the cash to the security office at Frias Transportation Management, which owns his company, Virgin Valley Cab.

An hour later, Woldemarim got a call to return to the office since the cash's rightful owner, a man in his 20s, had claimed the money.

The unidentified man, who said he won the cash at Wynn Las Vegas and had left the case in the cab after going to the airport, then gave Woldemarim a $2,000 tip.

While his friends argue that at least 10% of the cash should have been an appropriate tip, Woldemarim isn't complaining, the newspaper wrote.

The paper added that Woldemarim, who came to the U.S. seven years ago through a government visa lottery, will send some of his tip back to his family in Ethiopia.
