Angela Prattis, who has been handing out free, pre-packaged meals to underprivileged children in her Toby Farms neighborhood in Chester Township, will be fined $600 per day unless she would apply for a variance, or exception, from the ordinance in order to be allowed to continue the activities.
According to the town, the lunch lady is zoned residential and therefore needs a variance to offer free lunches. However, it would cost her $1,000 just to apply.

ReplyDeleteThis day and age when something good is being done to help those who can not help themselves would be a "Good Thing" with no questions nor Red Tape, If I had $1,000 it would be sent to pay whatever is needed to keep this "Lunch Lady's" project moving along. It hurts to know that those children are going to be without because of some silly political red tape. People who can afford to feed their children should be aware not everyone can feed their children Three Square Meals A Day.

ReplyDeleteI don't have the full $1,000 or even $600 to cover the fine, but I can find $50 to contribute and I'm sure there are people out there who can find $1 or $5 to do the same. It can add up fast. Anything over what she needs should be used to embarass the city and elect some officials who don't need a map and a flashlight to find their brains.

No, let worry about all the other countries in the world when our own are in proverty and need assistance. God Bless this Dear Lady. She should be given $600 a day instead of having a fine imposed. Just goes to show the morons we have running our governments.
