Lady Gaga has always been compared to the "Queen of Pop" Madonna because of these few basic similarities - blonde, provocative outfits, incredibly globally famous, and dance music.

Recently, Gaga's hit "Born This Way" was also heavily accused of being a rip off of Madonna's "Express Yourself". However, the two divas have never feuded although Gaga admitted Madonna as a huge influence.

Now, new evidence conclude that Gaga and Madonna are actually distant cousins. As reported by MailOnline, celebrity genealogist Christ Child told Boston Globe that they are "ninth cousins once removed" after the specialist tracked the French Canadian families 'back 200 years within minutes.'

So there's nothing to compare really because they're born that way, eh! :D

  1. Lady Gaga and Madonna are NOT distant cousins. Lady Gaga sings "Born This Way" but her ancestry is still a mystery! Jean-Francois Loiseau, a French genealogist who studied the parish registers in Quebec, has got evidence that both divas are not related. All details are published on this site http://www.perche-quebec.com/files/madonna/individus/madonna_ladygaga_en.htm

  2. Many hobby genealogist get confused when they find two celebrities listed in someone else's site as "my distant celebrity cousins." For example, Lady Gaga and I do share a common ancestor (Honore Martel), and Madonna and I share numerous French canadian ancestors. But while both Lady Gaga and Madonna are MY distant cousins, Honore Martel is NOT in Madonna's ancestry at all, nor do I see any other common ancestors who the two women share. Both being my cousins does not equate to the two being each other's cousins. That confuses a lot of family genealogists.
