At 06:53:08 PM (Philippine Time), the quake struck the epicenter which is 127 km (78 miles) East of Butuan.

On the bulletin of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), a 3.8 magnitude temblor was reported which hit 130 km SE of Tandag, Surigao del Sur at 6:53 PM.
Update:
Another tremor was felt at 10:20 PM which measures at magnitude 4.0, said Phivolcs. Its epicenter is 123 km SE of Tandag, Surigao del Sur. It has a depth of 33 k.m. and is of tectonic origin.
The Institute does not expect aftershocks nor tsunami from the quake.
There were no immediate reports of damage from the quakes.
