Three earthquakes measuring at 4-4.3 magnitude on Richter Scale, struck three provinces of the Philippines, today, March 28, 2011. There has been no report of any damages from the quakes.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the first quake, with a magnitude of 4.3, was located off Naval, Biliran Island and hit the area at 6:29 a.m. It was felt at intensity 4 in Naval, intensity 3 at Leyte and intensity 2 at Capoocan and Jaro, Leyte.
Another 4.0-magnitude quake followed a few hours later, at 9:03 am. Its epicenter was 227 km Southeast of General Santos City.
The third tremor was recorded off Cagayan de Oro City at 1:32 p.m. It has a magnitude of 4 and was felt at Intensity 3 in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental and Intensity 2 in Cagayan de Oro City.

i felt it.. i thought it was a strong earthquake or was it just the very first earthquake i'd ever felt in my entire life... LOL
ReplyDeleteThe town of cagayan de oro has been shaken by an 4.43 magnitude earthquake. Thank God that there are no major accidents happened.
ReplyDeleteHi there! The news was really horrible. I wasn't there when that happened but my husband told me that the earthquake was a bit heavy. Thank God that there are no reported serious accidents!
