Earthquake In The Philippines June 25, 2014

An earthquake with a magnitude reading of 5.7 jolted Luzon, Philippines on Wednesday night, June 25, 2014.

Epicenter of the said earthquake on Wednesday.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the quake hit at 7:52pm Manila Time and centered at 22km southwest of Calatagan, Batangas. The temblor was 36km deep and was tectonic in origin, it said.

The quake was also felt in Metro Manila and nearby areas, according to reports on social networking sites.

Phivolcs added that there will be aftershocks but it is not expecting major damage from the temblor.

Intensity V: Puerto Galera, Or. Mindoro; Batangas City; Looc,Lubang, Mamburao, Sablayan, Abra de Ilog, (Occ. Mindoro)

Intensity IV: Malolos, Bulacan; Tagaytay City; Mabini, Batangas; Indang, Rosario (Cavite); Naujan, San Teodoro,Pola, Socorro (Or. Mindoro)

Intensity III: Quezon City; Pasig City; Taguig City; Manila City; Paranaque City; Bacoor, Cavite; Baco, Or. Mindoro; San Jose, Occ. Mindoro; Talisay,
Batangas, Taal Volcano Island

Intensity II: Binangonan,Rizal; Lucban, Quezon; Makati City; San Pedro, Laguna

Intensity I: Caloocan City
